 SSC believes that art loves order and that we must be scientists of our art, not relying on talent but on observation, research, experimentation, data, and reporting. We believe our rehearsals are our laboratory and in order to grow, we must experiment.

Get ready for a captivating journey to ancient Greece with "Antigone," the timeless Greek tragedy by Sophocles, adapted by SSC staple, Catherine Bush! This gripping play follows the bold and rebellious Antigone as she stands up against her uncle, King Creon, in a daring act of defiance. Against all odds, Antigone courageously fights for what she believes in, even if it means challenging the authority of the state itself.

Every Brilliant Thing

Join us on stage at Tybee Post Theater for Every Brilliant Thing, a comedy about depression and the lengths we go to for those we love. This play has become a smash hit worldwide and has been performed in over 20 countries, featuring just one actor onstage and a very immersive experience for the audience.

Every Brilliant Thing is a heart wrenching and hilarious one-person play that will have your belly laughing and your eyes brimming. Based on true and untrue stories and told with the help of the audience, it is a life-affirming story of how to achieve hope through focusing on the smallest miracles of life.

This production will feature 2 different actors alternating performances, Christian Delcroix* and Shawna Peña-Downing. Please see below info on which actor is performing in which performances.

ABOUT THE ACTORS

Christian Delcroix*, a recent Savannah transplant and proud member of Actors Equity with Broadway credits that include the The Book of Mormon, South Pacific, and Follies.

Shawna Peña-Downing, a multi-disciplinary artist from Kansas City, Missouri, where her credits included The Coterie, Metropolitan Ensemble Theatre, Mesner Puppet Theater, Metropolitan Ensemble Theatre, Theatre for Young America, and KC MeltingPot Theatre. Shawna was last seen in SSC’s production of Spring Awakening.

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR

DJ Queenan hails from the Jersey Shore and has been directing theatre since 1985. His performance experiences include the NYC Dramathon, Vivianna, a new musical at the Playwright’s Guild in NYC & as a cabaret singer at the Duplex in Greenwich Village. After completing a degree at SCAD, DJ worked as the Program Director for the City of Savannah’s Cultural Arts Theatre for which he won Connect Savannah’s “Best Director” 2 years running, as well as founding Bangers & Mash Theatreworks. Most recently he has been the Director of Fine & Performing Arts for the Savannah Country Day School and guest director for the Tybee Arts Association. DJ has a BFA in Media & Performing Arts (SCAD) & an MA in Theatre Production (CWU).

Every Brilliant Thing is being produced in conjunction with National Suicide Prevention Month and aims to acknowledge those affected by suicide, raise awareness, and connect individuals to treatment services. Join SSC and Savannah Sip & Cycle for Savannah's only Murder Mystery Party Bike! This unique and interactive experience for audiences 21+, will have them exploring parts of Savannah's historic downtown on a Sip & Cycle Party Bike as they participate in a real-life murder mystery!

Becky’s big day is tomorrow but no one’s seen her since her bachelorette party last night. Join Detective Paul A. Dean in retracing Becky’s last steps, interviewing eyewitnesses, and examining clues to crack this case of “The Drunken Bachelorette”!
